Microsoft Teams Premium & Events – SKU naming update (no service changes)

Microsoft Teams Premium

Microsoft has advised of a SKU naming update affecting a subset of Microsoft Teams Premium and Microsoft Teams Events SKUs.

This is a naming‑only change. There are no changes to pricing, functionality, licensing, or customer entitlements.

What’s changing

Microsoft is standardising SKU names to better align with its current Teams product positioning.

The update:

  • Applies to select Teams Premium and Teams Events SKUs
  • Preserves existing Education, Government and Non‑Profit qualifiers
  • Keeps all existing term structures, including Extended Service Terms

The updated names will appear in the 1 May 2026 price list.

SKUs in scope

SKUs impacted relate to:

  • Teams Events Attendee Packs (Education, Government, Non‑Profit variants)
  • Microsoft Teams Premium SKUs for:
    • Education (Faculty & Student)
    • Government
    • Non‑Profit

You may notice the addition of “Microsoft” to Teams Premium SKU names, along with corrected attendee pack naming for Teams Events.

What’s NOT changing

  • Pricing
  • Billing terms or renewal behaviour
  • Product IDs or SKU IDs
  • Service plans or provisioning
  • Eligibility by customer segment

Existing subscriptions continue without interruption. Only the displayed SKU name will change in Partner Center, billing, and reporting.

Partner impact

Partners may see the updated names reflected in:

  • Partner Center catalogues
  • Price lists
  • Billing and reporting views

No action is required. We recommend using the updated SKU names in customer‑facing material once they appear, to stay consistent with Microsoft naming.

Next steps

This update supports Microsoft’s broader Teams product positioning and does not introduce new offers or SKUs.

If you have questions about how this appears in Partner Center or on invoices, the Leader Cloud team is here to help.
