Windows 365 Business – 20% price decrease from 1 May 2026

Microsoft has announced a 20% list price reduction for Windows 365 Business, effective 1 May 2026, making Cloud PCs more cost‑effective for small and medium business customers.

Alongside the price change, Microsoft is introducing a new on‑demand start experience for Windows 365 Business Cloud PCs.

What’s changing

20% price decrease

  • Windows 365 Business list prices drop by 20% from 1 May 2026
  • Applies across Windows 365 Business SKUs

New on‑demand start experience

  • Cloud PCs stay powered on for 1 hour after sign‑out or disconnect
  • Reconnecting within 1 hour behaves as it does today
  • Reconnecting after more than 1 hour may take slightly longer while the Cloud PC resumes from hibernation
  • Once connected, performance and functionality are unchanged

When pricing takes effect

  • New subscriptions:
Lower pricing applies to purchases made on or after 1 May 2026
  • Existing subscriptions:
Updated pricing applies at the next renewal, depending on purchase channel and term

Partner impact

This change lowers the entry cost for Cloud PCs while maintaining the full Windows 365 Business experience. Combined with the on‑demand start behaviour, it improves cost efficiency without reducing capability.

What partners should do now

  • Review customer renewal dates
  • Proactively communicate the price decrease to eligible customers
  • Set expectations around the on‑demand reconnect behaviour after extended inactivity
  • Use the revised pricing to reposition Windows 365 Business for SMB workloads
